Pros:
The Dyson AM02 Tower Fan has a distinctive, low-key design comprising of an elegant looped amplifier and base plate. The fan is available in either Silver/Silver or Iron/Blue so you can choose a color scheme which fits well with your decor.
The unit is very easy to assemble. All the three parts are clearly labelled with marks for alignment and click in together.
Unlike conventional electric fans, Dyson’s new generation of fans use no blades so there is no chopping blades spinning and creating unwanted buffeting. This fan employs Air Multiplier™ technology which uses an advanced process that draws in the surrounding air using a brushless motor then amplifies it sixteen times to create a smooth airflow.
Using the oscillation feature, you can direct the airflow anywhere you want in your room by making the amplifier slowly oscillate around at 90 degrees. Impressively it oscillates very quietly. The fan speed can be regulated via 8 settings using a dimmer switch so you have plenty of control over the airflow.
Thanks to its bladeless design, the AM02 Tower Fan has no safety grill so is very easy to clean. All you need to do is get a dry cloth and wipe down the base and looped amplifier.
Cons:
The fan is pretty loud at its top 2 speed settings, but most users found that it produced adequate enough cooling on the low or medium settings.
Exterior of the fan is constructed of plastic. Not a big deal, but we would have liked an aluminium exterior at this price.
No timer included. We hope Dyson add a timer to the next model as it would be particularly handy for turning it off automatically at night after going to bed.
